Spring Admits are Eligible to Rush and Join TKE in the Fall or Spring if Selected

Each year many USC students are admitted to the university in the Spring rather than the Fall. These “Spring Admits” often ask “Can I join a fraternity and, if so, when?”
TKE is part of the University Park Interfraternity Council (UPIFC) which does not place restrictions on student eligibility to join a fraternity and TKE USC Bylaws define membership as follows:
“A member must be a male student in good standing at the University of Southern California or other academic institution that is a part of the admission process into the University of Southern California.”
This means that USC Spring Admits attending another school or taking a semester off before transferring can participate in rush, and if selected, join TKE in the Fall or Spring of their freshman year.
USC does not allow students to join a fraternity until they complete a minimum of 12 academic units which means that Spring Admits are not eligible to join USC IFC fraternities until the start of their sophomore year.
If you are a Spring Admit and interested in joining a fraternity we would suggest living in private student housing near the University in your Fall semester even if you are not yet attending classes at USC. And we encourage you to participate in fraternity recruitment. For our rush schedule and registration info click here.
