TKE at the University of Southern California
With more than 150 members, the Beta-Sigma Chapter of Tau Kappa Epsilon is the largest fraternity at USC and the largest TKE Chapter in the country. We excel in leadership, academics, athletics, and having a good time. Widely regarded as the fraternity offering the best overall undergraduate experience, we are a past recipient of the University President’s Award for Fraternal Excellence.
Tau Kappa Epsilon is the only fraternity at USC with two houses. Known as TKE West and TKE East, the houses sit side-by-side at the beginning of the Fraternity and Sorority Row. TKE East is a modern fraternity house that was opened in 2009. TKE West is our traditional fraternity house that was comprehensively renovated and remodeled in 2014. Both properties share a common fence which creates a large shared backyard facility that includes a full-size sand volleyball court and a basketball half-court. There are 67 members living in the two houses.
TKE boasts the newest, safest, and best maintained fraternity housing at USC. Both houses have fire sprinkler systems, fire alarms, new smoke detectors, emergency lighting, and commercial grade electrical systems. All rooms and common areas have heating and air-conditioning.
Tau Kappa Epsilon International Fraternity
Tau Kappa Epsilon is an international social fraternity founded on January 10, 1899, at Illinois Wesleyan University. The Beta-Sigma Chapter founded on October 30, 1948, is one of the more than 250 active TKE chapters and colonies throughout the United States and Canada.
Tau Kappa Epsilon aspires to become the leading 21st century college fraternity with a focused mission on building better men who, in turn, will build a better world. We define our success by how well we advance our members’ character and personal development so that society is enriched by their leadership and contributions throughout their lives.
The Fraternity strives to make the Teke experience something special for every man – collegiate and alumnus alike. A Teke will excel academically, treat his fellow Fraters and others with respect and dignity, and have the opportunity to network with others who share these beliefs and experiences. The Teke experience begins at affiliation and continues throughout life, and the Fraternity strives to provide this experience for every man who meets our membership criteria, without regard to wealth, rank, or honor, but based on their personal worth and character.
Tekes are men from diverse backgrounds, but the TKE Nation is one which unites us all in a common bond, where we make an immeasurably positive impact on the lives of every member, in every community, and around the world.
